Celebrate Recovery is a CHRIST-centered 12 step recovery program.
Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find fellowship and freedom from the issues that are controlling our life. CR is a biblical and balanced program to help us overcome all of the "Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits" that weigh us down and interfere in our relationships with each other and the Lord. Unlike other 12-step programs, CR is based on the actual time tested words of Jesus Christ rather than psychological theory.
The purpose of the Celebrate Recovery ministry here at Hickory Ridge Community Church is to Teach, Testify, and Talk about God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps based on the 8 Recovery Principles found in the Beatitudes. This experience allows us to “be changed.” and heal. We open the door to lasting recovery by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another.
Celebrate Recovery Started at Saddleback Church in California in 1991. It was founded by John Baker and Pastor Rick Warren who wrote “The Purpose Driven Life” which sold over 50 million copies. CR is now in over 35,000 churches worldwide and over five million people have completed step study. Eighty-five percent of the people who go through the program stay with the church, and nearly half serve as church volunteers! Approximately two-thirds of the participants are in recovery for something other than drugs or alcohol. What are you waiting for?

Celebrate Recovery is for ANYONE who struggles with issues in life.
We call those issues HURTS, HANG-UPS, and HABITS.
- A HURT is an emotional reaction to another person's behavior or to a disturbing situation.
- A HANG-UP is a negative mental attitude that is used to cope with people or adversity.
- A HABIT is an addiction to something or someone.
“Because of sin we have all hurt ourselves, we have hurt other people, and others have hurt us. This means each of us needs repentance and recovery in order to live our lives the way God intended.” — Pastor Rick Warren, Saddleback Church

Immediately following the Large Group Celebration we break out into small groups. Open Share Group meetings are a safe place to share your thoughts and feelings with others who are also struggling with similar issues on their journey to recovery. These groups are gender specific (men meet with men, women meet with women), confidentiality and anonymity are essential. Open share groups are an ideal place to find support from others, give support to others, and work together to find healing.
